Do you remember when you first made your way onto the “World Wide Web”?
In those days, it seems we were all easily impressed, doesn’t it? The more sounds and graphic animations, the better. However, the Internet has matured. Silly sound effects and flashing animations are not only out of fashion, but they will send your visitors either running or laughing or both!
Here are some signs that you have a website that is in need of major updating:
1) Unnecessary animation. Does your title blink? Do you have little emoticons (those are usually little yellow faces that wink or laugh, etc.) dancing all over the place? Does your mouse’s pointer arrow leave a little trail of pixy dust in its wake? If so… I’m laughing!
2) Does music loudly blare at your visitors as soon as they arrive at your site? I usually make the mistake of leaving my speakers turned up… so, if I fall out of my chair when I visit your website, there’s a good chance I’ll do one of two things: mute my speakers or leave. If I’m listening to my own music, then I’m definitely leaving, because I don’t want to hear yours.
3) Ugly color schemes. This one speaks for itself. Unfortunately, not everyone has a good eye for this sort of thing. That’s understandable, but if that is your situation you should hire a designer (like TruClick)!
